Given that Covid 19`s „Schedule X“ expires on 30 September 2020 for many modern awards and that other Covid 19-specific calendars also expire at the end of October, the Commission has looked at the continuing impact of the pandemic on business needs and how companies are likely to be forced to work. Since 1 January 2010, awards for the private sector, including the non-governmental sector of municipal services, private schools and universities, have been administered by the Commonwealth Fair Work Commission and not by the SAET. Modern distinctions are based on industry or occupation and apply to employers and workers who perform work covered by the award. SAET lists all industrial prices in South Australia. Employers who are considering dismissal must consider their obligations to pay severance pay as part of a modern award or company agreement. The Moderns Awards came into effect on January 1, 2010. Transitional provisions in most modern distinctions have led to the gradual recovery of wage rates and certain other conditions over time. Most of these agreements ended on July 1, 2014. Company agreements can be tailored to the needs of certain companies. An agreement must improve the overall situation of an employee in relation to the corresponding price or prices. National Employment Standards (NES) are minimum standards that cannot be repealed by the terms of company agreements or bonuses. Registered agreements are valid until terminated or issued.
