If you are a VAHPA member, you can view your employment contract by registering on the members` portal. Union action has been agreed on a number of key elements. But workers are also seeking compensation for not receiving a two-year pay increase, and they want to put an end to management`s initiative to employ contractors on lower wages and conditions. Please contact VAHPA on 1300 322 917 or email@example.com if you have any questions about your agreement. Merri Health is one of 29 such centres in Victoria. They offer a wide range of health services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and mental health programs. For the past two long years, members of the Victorian Allied Health Professionals Association (VAHPA) have been fighting for a new enterprise agreement. Negotiations on the new agreement between the AHP and the nurses were concluded in 2016. The Fair Work Commission approved the agreement and came into force on January 13, 2017. Negotiations have been difficult because AAPA members are clearly overwhelmed by nurses, which, given the attention they deserve, makes it difficult to get specific questions from the AHP service operator and customers. With the expiration, in nominal terms, of the agreement on the Community health sector, more than a year ago, on 30 June 2016, measures to improve the salaries and conditions of allied health professionals in the community health and well-being sector as a whole begin.
The „Community Health Advocacy“ campaign is being introduced in all self-governing municipal health centres, which raise not only the issue of the salaries and conditions of allied health professions, but also the survival of municipal health as a vital sector of health in Victoria, according to egalitarian principles. The ASU has always defended the position that this agreement improves almost every aspect of the current agreement. A petition in support of the majority was closed and submitted to the Fair Labour Commission, after which the administration wanted to negotiate. Our first meeting is on Friday, August 4th and members meet regularly to refine their damage minutes. Two delegates have undergoh vaHPA training and it is fair to say that we are all very interested in postponing this training! Negotiations on the new agreement will continue until July. All staff will have the opportunity to vote on the final agreement, whether or not you have appointed a representative. The IO (organising) is required to participate in the development and implementation of vahpa industrial campaigns, including taking on a leading role in negotiations on enterprise agreements, managing the legal, technical and representative aspects of collective disputes, and ensuring that members are assisted and empowered for the transition to the workplace. BreastScreen Victoria has proposed a number of changes to the proposed enterprise agreement, some positive, many negative.
They have also accepted some VAHPA applications, but not most of them. Recently, they have put on the table an offer of wages, although this unfortunately provides for wage increases of less than 2% per year. After lengthy and lengthy negotiations in which members voted on the original agreement before Christmas, members approved a revised agreement to introduce Phase 2 of the 5th year and a refund clause for future holidays and annual wage increases of 3%. If the agreement is rejected, mcm will again be forced to the negotiating table. This may lead to another possibility for the ASU to improve the agreement, or the employer to reduce the current supply. Workers are invited to vote on the agreement just before they are presented to the Fair Labour Commission. While we must fight for the survival of community health, the simple fact is that negotiating a multi-company agreement covering all municipal health centres is not good for allied health professionals or for the municipal health sector.
